Brett Harris swept the stout Top Fuel field making him the other half of the first father and son combo to win the March Meet in its 49 year history. Dad Jack has won Top Fuel at this event twice. Harris ran a weekend best 5.865 at 257.65 to beat an up-in-smoke Jim Murphy in the final.

Steve Romanazzi got instant dividends from his investment in talented tuner, Donnie Couch scoring a Funny Car win their first time out. It wasn't the prettiest final for sure but Romo took the final over with an out of shape 7.250 at 150.62 over a red lighting Chris Krabill (who was back in on the break rule when Lee Jennings couldn't make the call).

The A/Fuel crown went to Kin Bates who ripped off a 6.326 at 226.07 to get the best of first time finalist Gary Eickmann.

For whatever reasons, only 3 cars showed up for Junior Fuel 'A' and the best of those three was J.D. Zink who beat Wayne Ramay in the "final" with a 6.923 at 190.27.

Unlike the 'A' field, the Jr. Fuel 'B' class had more than enough cars for the 8 car show and at the end of the day Bud Hammer was in the winners circle. Hammer left on then flat out beat race favorite John Rasmussen in the final 7.197 at 185.03 to 7.211at 186.76.

Chris Abbey collected another win with a close 6.731 at 207.85 win over Dale Boomgaarden who was right there with a 6.751 at 207.75.

Brad Chafee came out on top of a large and tough A/Gas field beating Dave Matson.

Leonard Perry waded through the B/Gas class in his sharp Mustang.

Red McGuiness survive a huge filed to win the C/Gas show.

Edward Carey D/Gas winner.

Arguably the toughest class of all is Nostalgia Eliminator 1 and the big dog at this March Meet was Dave Ward of Crestline CA, in his slick '48 Fiat.

Dan See captured the NE 2 title. Dan defeated first time finalist Skip Spence, who redlighted, in the final.

James Purpuro defeated John Lyon for the NE 3 title.

Dolph Beasly survived a huge field to win the Hot Rod trophy.

On a sad note, long time Famoso Raceway starter, 59 year old John Morgan passed away from a heart attack just three days after putting in another long weekend on the line at the 19th March Meet. His presence will be missed by all.
