The Race
Dale
Pulde was the event Grand Marshall. Lee Paul and Lisa honored
him with a honorary war eagle metal trophy. They also gave a
smaller version to all class of cars except funnies for first
place trophies.
Before
1st round the qualified cars were paraded down and staged in
front of the stands to let the fans have a close look at the
cars... great idea.
Great
crowed - a reported 5,000+ paid spectators.
Mike
Adams day was over early when Bucky Austin ran a 6.087 to his
6.808.
Veteran
Canadian shoe Terry Capp got a single when the Speed Sport
Barracuda lost fire after the burnout.
By some
accounts the Lee Jennings, Leah Pruett match up was the best
race of the day.
Pruett
drilled Jennings with a .035 reaction time to a way off .328
to get a holeshot win 6.408 to a much quicker 6.183.
Kris
Krabill got a single when Sean Dales "Shaky Situation"
failed to fire.
Round
two paired Bucky Austin and crowd favorite Leah Pruett.
This
was all Austin when his 5.893 at 232.96 soundly tromped Pruetts
6.326.
The other
semi pair was Kris Krabill and Terry Capp.
In one
of the closest races of the event Krabills 6.020 at 237.00
nipped Capp's 6.094 at 239.05.
With
the sun nowhere in sight, heavily favored Bucky Austin squared
off with Kris Krabell for all the marbles.
What
promised to be a great drag race was over just after the hit
for Austin when he blazed the tires. Krabill legged the Pedler
to a nice 6.068 at 236.15.
Bonus Shots
On Friday

Keith
Jackson from Colordo made an exhibition pass in the Rich Howell
owned, Dale Pulde tuned AA/FA.
