A Few People - Pits - Odds & Ends In No Particular Order

One of the traditions at the Nightfire is the afternoon driver autograph session which this year turned to sessions with half the drivers on Friday and half on Saturday. The reason for this is the addition of the funny car shoes.

This is a big deal for the Boise fans who form what seems like a never ending line to get signed drivers cards, hand outs, T-shirts, hats, arms - whatever - autographed by the nitro drivers.

A new rule went into effect at Boise that being that the Top Fuel cars must now have 2 10 lb fire bottles. Many of the teams didn't much care for the new rule or think it was necessary.

The view from the pits to the head of the staging lanes.

Boise has a unique staging lane in that it is right in front of the pits side stands and elevated above the race track. This allows the fans to see the cars and drivers up close and personal and lets the teams see how track conditions are playing out.

Ever wonder how slicks are shipped?

On the fence on Sunday were two of the coolest ladies in drag racing - Cindy Gibbs Arias and Gwen McWilliams. Cindy was there doing homework for her new position at Spokane Dragway and Gwen was just "having fun".

This was the show stopping 52 minute clean-up following the first round of Top Fuel Saturday evening. The sun literally set while the track went away and the fans got bored to death. The comment was overheard, "Bakersfield could have cleaned this up three times before these guys are done."
