Fuel Semi Finals
Sunday eliminations kicked
off with the National Anthem and fire the first pair of Top Fuel.
Then there were four.
Pete Wittenberg meet Dusty Green.
Green welded Wittenberg
to the starting line and opened up a substantial early lead.
Green held on for the one tenth
holeshot win (.054 to a .145). His 5.800 at 241.63 barely beat
Wittenberg's quicker and faster 5.715 at 252.38. It would be
Green's first final of the season.
Out next to determine who would
meet Green in the final was Mendy Fry and the ever improving
Fry got a slight jump
but Hilton hung in.
Fry pulled away to another stellar
pass. Her 5.697 at 231.00 got the best of a game Hilton who stepped
up with a career best 5.886 at 249.81.

First up to see who would
make up the B-Field final was Tim Boychuk and Brad Thompson.
Thompson left first,
Boychuk gave chase.
When it looked like a Jail Break
win, Thompson had issues on the top end allowing Boychuk to drive
by for the win with a 5.870 at 233.26. Thompson slowed to a 5.928
Boychuk's final round
opponent would be Bill Windham or Shawn Bowen.
Windham left first by a bunch
but it was very apparent that low ET cars were taking the right
lane. Like those before him, it was up in smoke basically handing
the win to Bowen.
Bowen motored on down
Broadway to a 5.832 at 240.89 giving him lane choice for the
Show Funny Car Semi Finals
Vying for a spot in the
finals were Jeff Arend and Jason Rupert.
In another close race
Rupert beat Arend 5.61 at 260.81 (top speed) over a 5.74.
It would be Matt Bynum
or Bobby Cottrell facing Rupert in the final.
This was over instantly
when Cottrell went up in smoke at the hit.
