- TOP FUEL, FC & AA/FA SESSION THREE
On a beautiful Friday
session three was opened by Jim Murphy and Jim Young.
Murphy blazed the tires
before the tree.
Solid pass put Young
in the #2 spot behind Fry.
Next out was a pair of
BBC cars, Joey Haas and Tyler Hilton.
Both drivers improved
going to #5 and #6.
Next pair pitted Jerry
Hangey and Brendan Murry. Neither were in the show.
Murry had his time tossed
for oil on the track while Hangey missed the 6.22 bump.
Out next was Mendy Fry who was
sitting on the pole and Julius Hughes who was holding down the
Shelar went for a 5.4 and the
track wasn't there. Fry went into tire shake, slapped it and
The last pair for Q3
was Adam Sorokin and Roger Lechtenberg.
Sorokin blazed the tires and
clicked it. Lechtenberg made his best pass of the weekend but
it wasn't nearly enough. The good news for Radar was he went
on to qualify for the 6.0 class with his own dragster.
Tim Cullinan closed the
session on a single.
Cullinan continued to
have problems and remained #7 with his 6.217 at 147.39.
Larry Gocha took another stab
at getting his NTF license. With Jim Young giving you help, horsepower
would not be an issue.
Not a bad pass but if you look
at the qualifying order he's not on it. Not sure what he needed
to run to seal the deal.
- FUNNY CAR SESSION THREE
2018 funny car winner Dan Horan
Jr. was out for his second shot and John Smith in the Smith Family
"Entertainer" made his first run of the weekend.
Horan carded a 5.985
at 245.58 kept him #2 while Smith shut off early to a 6.094 at
The other pair brought
out Eric Stevens and Jeff Arend.
Arend remained #1 while
Stevens went low.
