The Goodguys Vintage Drag Racing Association announced that all 10 spots in the Goodguys 5-Second Club (For Goodguys/VRA-legal front engined top fuel dragsters) have been permanently filled. The first five-second top fuel run to occur at a Goodguys/VRA sanctioned event occurred April 19th, 1998 when Bill Dunlap drove Mike Fuller’s “Westwind” Donovan powered entry to a 5.98 at Sonoma’s Sears Point Raceway. Since that first “Five” there have been many more five second runs at Goodguys/VRA events with Jack “The Sheriff” Harris, Jim Murphy, Gerry Steiner, Bob Muravez, Bill Dunlap and Roger Lechtenberg logging multiple fives within the same event.     Each member will be awarded a special edition, one-off Goodguys 5-Second club trophy which has been handcrafted by Patrick Pierce of Austin Sculptures. The sculptures feature a vintage style open face helmet with goggles and the famed gas-mask style breathers.
