Hi troops, here is the quick
story. Someone stole the trailer I bought from Jim Murphy on
Friday night (01-29-05) and the MasterCar was inside. An Alcohol
funny car racer saw it on the street in Ontario, he thought it
was weird, still had some OSH signs on it, he called Kurt Kuhns
who call Jim Murphy who called me...Alex and I are on the way
to retrieve it and from what the guy said it is a mess, they
tried to pull the engine but failed but all tools etc are gone...they
did steal the fuel tank which is very unique and I don't know
what else...this is a heads up as that tank is one of a kind
and could lead us to someone...more later after we see what is
left. John
Fuel tank
A big thank you to a guy named
Rick Murdoch, he works on a alcohol funny car, he found the trailer
near his home, looked funny to him being there, saw it was broke
into and saw my dragster. He called Kurt Kuhns who called Jim
Murphy (the trailer still had some OSH logos on it and the WW2
logo) who called me...had Rick not taken notice of the trailer
I am sure by the end of tonight there would have been nothing
left.
I can not tell you all how pissed I am...Alex And I picked up
the trailer, they tried to steal the engine and only managed
to F--- things up. Body is thrashed, fuel tank and lines are
gone. Drive line cover gone. At a quick glance here's what else
is missing...
Aluminum floor jack
Two of Larry Mursch's battery packs for my starters
All the aluminum supports for the canopy
Two custom Radius rods that Alex made at his American Roadster
and two sets of his custom engine mounts (can be see on his website
americanroadster.com)
four fuel bottles (I hope the full one blows up!!!!!)
A full Craftsman tool box worth of tools
Trailer generator (the trailer has thousands of dollars of damage)
a bunch of Firestone Destination BigFoot die cast cars
EZ Lift Trailer stinger and mounts
Four brand new Aluminum jack stands
Four brand new Aluminum wheel dollies
To top it off the assholes shot a can of EZ Off oven cleaner
all over the car and trailer (it was there for Youngblood to
use to remove some paint) All the aluminum will need polishing
at least.
I'm sure we will find more missing after we check the shop. Anyone
in the Ontario area keep your eyes open, I figure all the aluminum
parts will show up at a scrap yard out there.
Thank you all for your concern...we will fix it...I have to...it
will be the only way I will settle down...when it is all pretty
again. John E

Hi everyone, thanks again for
the kind words...the bad news continues...I have found much more
missing that may show up at swap meets and Ebay...My black Simpson
firesuit, has BankAmericar AA/FD on it and Firestone patches.
My vintage silver Simpson firesuit, gloves, boots & mask.
My black goggles (like Brenden sells) My silver goggles (the
originals) Simpson driving shoes. Both Bell helmets, Orange (the
MasterCar) with John on it and the candy white, & blue one
like the BankAmericar colors with John on it. These items are
going to be hard to replace so please keep your eyes open. They
also got the drive shafts for both cars (I only put them in when
we push start) Lenco can make new ones. They even nailed my electric
scooter ( guess Don will have to walk at the next CHRR) trying
to keep my humor up but I feel so close to just throwing up...this
is a very sick feeling. Here's what Alex and I found when we
recovered the trailer. John
They tried to use the cross beam
in the trailer to lift the engine.
They dragged the hydraulic
lift until it bent out of the way.
There was a large generator
in this hole and a door covering it.
Even though the keys to open
the cabinets were in the doors on a few they still ripped off
some doors.
Fuel tank and fuel lines
gone, scrap Aluminum to them I guess.
Tool box destroyed and empty,
engine all un-bolted ready to lift out, that is the side body
panel sticking out to the left.
Weird, they removed the Zeus
buttons but still mangled the cowl..I need to kill someone...
Side body panels were
bent out of the way to get to the engine.
The morons taped over the OSH
logo on the rear door, like that hid what it was?
Ripped the rear door
latch off, lock was still intact.
The very bent beam from
trying to lift the engine.
What's left of the tool box,
just trying to remember what all I had in there makes me dizzy...God
this sucks!
The shelf on the left held all
the rigging for the full length canopy, all aluminum...now headed
for a scrap yard...shit!
Side door was just ripped open.
Please keep your eyes and ears open as I know you will, spread
the word to your other groups...nailing these guys would make
my century! The police can't do much...just hope some parts show
up.
This was 10 years ago, the chances of anything that was stolen
being found is next to impossible. However, if any of this rings
a bell, contact me at: John's
