TOP FUEL FINAL

The final featured a pair of Jim's, Murphy and Young, the #1 & #2 qualifiers. Both driving Neal & Parks race cars, One a seasoned vet, the other a young gun. West coast fans for Murphy, East coast fans for Young. Oh, and both cars are green. A perfect match up if I do say so myself.

For you Hawaiian fans, who would have thought that Roland Leong would be tuning a front engine Top Fuel dragster in 2017 that runs quicker and faster than 95% of his Big Show cars, which were many.

Young left first but it was short lived.

Murphy, who was the most consistent Top Fuel car all weekend, ran another 5.713 at 257.33 (his best speed of the meet). Young gave it a shot with a 5.920 at 253.56. Could have used his 5.61 qualifying time.

Murphy not only took the long overdue win but also overcame Fry for the points lead. Gonna be a fun season.

Roland Leong, Dan Wilkison and the rest of the WW2 Racing team finally had a chance to celebrate. Odds are, this won't be the last time this season.

BOOKED IN FUNNY CAR SHOW FRIDAY

Unlike the March Meet and CHRR, the funny cars don't flock to Bowling Green. So, the last few years 4 have been booked in for what is basically an exhibition show. Here are a bunch of shots taken Friday and Saturday in the order they ran.

Two of the four were Paul Romine in his "Man O' War" '79 Mustang and Greg Jacobsmeyer in his "All Star" '70 Challenger.
