- TOP FUEL Q2
The second and last qualifying
session was held Saturday afternoon under sunny skies. Tyler
Hilton led things off.
Hilton had another clean
run and would qualify #3 with his previous 5.94 at 241.
Next out were Adam Sorokin
and Jim Murphy.
Murphy was on a strong pass,
until he wasn't. At the thousand foot mark the green car burnt
the #3 piston and banged the blower slowing him to a 6.03 at
195.97. Sorokin shut off early to a 5.96 at 207.53 but his Q1
5.91 at 210 was good for for #2.
Out for a last chance
single was Paul Schultz.
Schultz lost fire after the burnout
and couldn't get the Spirit of Tulsa restarted. After his Q1
no-time DQ and unable to stage under power here, he would not
make the show.
