FUEL Q2 SATURDAY
This event was unlike any
other in that you had the last two qualifying sessions and three
rounds of racing in one day. That is a ton to ask of any nostalgia
nitro team. But, here we go.
Under sunny skies, Q2 was led
off by Canadian Phil Ruskowski powered by a SBC and 2017 Top
Fuel Champion Jim Murphy.
To this point Jim Murphy may
well call 2019 his "Snake Bit Tour". At the hit there
was nothing, the throttle stop was not removed. Its a good thing
he's Gentleman Jim because I can think of many other drivers
who would not shrug this off.
Neither run went as hoped.
Out next was Adam Sorokin
and Pete Wittenberg.
Wittenberg got everyone's attention
carding a 5.70 to move in right under Mendy who sat out this
session. Sorokin continued to flounder.
FUNNY
CAR Q2 SATURDAY
Out first was Kris Krabill
all by his lonesome.
Pair two was Nathan Sitko
and Billy Morris.
Pair two matched Tim
Boychuk and Mike Peck.
Decent laps both.
Next up was Ryan Hodgson and
Bobby Cottrell - the two top picks by the online Drag Racing
Magazine's Tricky Tipster.
Closing out Q2 was Dan
Horan Jr. and Jeff Arend.
